Grace has been with Edwards Sluiters – Employment Lawyers since 2022, after having relocated from Canterbury to Hawke’s Bay. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Philosophy from the University of Canterbury and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2017. Prior to joining the firm, Grace practised at two Christchurch law firms, where she developed a strong foundation in general practice before focusing on employment law.

Grace now advises both employers and employees across a wide range of employment and human resource matters. Her experience includes representing clients in the Employment Relations Authority and mediation, assisting with the resolution of personal grievances and other employment disputes, restructures and disciplinary processes, investigations, drafting employment and contractor agreements, and developing workplace policies. She also provides clear, practical advice on more technical aspects of employment law, including leave entitlements, hours of work, and wages.

Known for her measured and thoughtful approach, Grace works carefully with clients to understand not only the legal issues they face, but the broader context in which they arise. She is approachable and empathetic, and values building strong, trusted relationships. Clients appreciate her steady guidance and the reassurance of knowing she is accessible and responsive when it matters.

Grace is based in the Hawke’s Bay but enjoys working with clients both locally and throughout New Zealand, as well as supporting international clients navigating New Zealand employment law.

Grace also regularly represents clients at mediations and has appeared in the Employment Relations Authority, the District Court, the Real Estates Agents Disciplinary Tribunal, the Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal and the Tenancy Tribunal.

She is a commercially pragmatic and strategic advocate.
