Phillis Goredema

Phillis Goredema is a graduate of the University of Canterbury, holding a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy. She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in June 2023 and has since specialised in employment and health and safety law.

Phillis has worked closely with both employer and employee clients to navigate complex workplace and regulatory challenges. She is valued for her pragmatic, commercially aware approach and her ability to distill legal complexity into clear, actionable advice. Phillis offers strategic insight into workplace dynamics and risk management. She is focused on helping clients achieve practical outcomes that align with both legal obligations and broader business goals.

Phillis is passionate about promoting fair and productive workplace relationships and empowering clients to make informed decisions. She stays current with evolving employment legislation and case law, ensuring her advice is both relevant and forward-thinking.

 

Outside of work, Phillis enjoys exploring new regions of New Zealand and spending time outdoors—particularly hiking and discovering scenic trails. She is passionate about creativity and personal growth, often trying new activities, whether artistic, adventurous, or athletic.
