Susannah Hodson

BA, LLB

Employment Lawyer

Susannah Hodson is a recent graduate of the University of Auckland Law School and also has a Bachelor of Arts in French and Politics and International Relations. She is currently completing her professional legal studies with a view of being admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor later in 2023.

This is Susannah’s first role out of university, and she is excited to pursue her passion for employment law. Susannah has previous experience as a Volunteer Legal Assistant at Community Law and a Volunteer Bureau Interviewer at the Citizens Advice Bureau. In these roles, she encountered employment issues among many other issues and was able to put clients’ minds at ease by advising them of their rights and possible avenues for action.

She also has experience as a Legal Assistant at a tech company where she advised on company policies and negotiated commercial leases. In this role, she gained insight into the needs of a business and how to navigate issues as they arose creatively and pragmatically.

Outside of work, Susannah loves to read, exercise, and cook new recipes (with varying levels of success).

Grace also regularly represents clients at mediations and has appeared in the Employment Relations Authority, the District Court, the Real Estates Agents Disciplinary Tribunal, the Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal and the Tenancy Tribunal.

She is a commercially pragmatic and strategic advocate.

Grace is passionate about building relationships and is looking forward to meeting clients in the Hawke’s Bay.
